Sodium contamination measurement with plugging meter and hydrogen leak detection system

Description
The plugging meter is a controllable cooling trap for measuring the temperature at which the impurities begin to precipitate. The measuring principle, construction and mode of operation are presented in detail. The hydrogen defection system is based on the selective permeability of certain materials (in this case Ni is used) to certain gases. Measuring principle, construction and mode of operation are given, too. Both systems are used for monitoring the safe operation of the Na-heated steam generator. (HP)

Das Plugging Meter ist eine kontrollierbare Kuehlfalle zur Messung der Temperatur, bei der die Verunreinigungen sich niederschlagen. Messprinzip, Konstruktion und Arbeitsweise werden im Detail dargestellt. Das Wasserstoffnachweissystem beruht auf der selektiven Durchlaessigkeit bestimmter Materialien (im vorliegenden Fall wurde Ni verwendet) gegenueber bestimmten Gasen. Auch hier werden Messprinzip, Aufbau und Arbeitsweise beschrieben. Beide Systeme werden zur Ueberwachung des sicheren Betriebs eines Na-beheizten Dampferzeugers verwendet. (HP/AK)Additional details
