Some observations on short circuit diffusion
Description
Effects of short circuiting paths on diffusion are discussed in terms of dislocations and grain boundaries. Experimental results not only demonstrate the importance of the density of these high diffusivity regions, but also show how the limited solubility of the diffusing species can enhance the short circuit contribution.
