The monitoring of noise level and lighting of work areas work to support OHS RWTC-BATAN

To support the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Radioactive Waste Technology Center (RWTC) monitoring the non-radiation safety parameters. The monitoring of non radiation safety parameter carried out is monitoring noise levels and work area lighting. The purpose of monitoring the noise level is to evaluate the level of risk due to noise exposure to workers in the work area of Radioactive Waste Treatment Installation (RWI) and Transfer Channel Interim Storage for Spent Fuel (TC-ISSF) Installation. Measurement of the noise level in the room chiller (cooling) represent RWI noise levels as well as noise level measurements in space chiller (cooling) representing each installation RWI and TC-ISSF. While the monitoring carried out at the level of general lighting Purification TC-ISSF Space and Space RWI compaction room of RWI. Based on the results of measurements of noise levels and general lighting during the year of 2014, the level of noise and general lighting at RWI and TC-ISSF installation still within reasonable limits, because the average noise level is below the Threshold Limit Value (TLV) of noise.
