Natural gas for vehicle (NGV). The fuel for a sustainable road transport

Description

This publication proposes an overview of the situation, evolution, perspectives and examples of the use of natural gas (NGV) and bio natural gas (BioNGV) as fuels for vehicles. It first outlines the benefits of running on NGV or BioNGV: definitions of NGV and BioNGV, ecological and economic solutions for a sustainable transport. It presents, describes and comments the operation and development perspectives of the NGV/BioNGV distribution network: types of stations, station operation, objective of 250 public stations by 2050. It proposes an overview of the always more diversified vehicle offer: more vehicles, more power and greater autonomy, vehicles for all needs, and safety of running on NGV. It describes how to convert a vehicle fleet into a NGV fleet: 4 conversion steps, examples of budgetary approach, financial supports to purchase vehicles. Some examples are finally presented: use of BioNGV by the Noblet group, and bus as a promising market
