Reflectivity modulation with LixWO3 thin films

Description
One potentially improtant application for electrochromic (and other solid-state ionic)thin films is as the electrochemically-controlled reflectivity-modulated layer in smart window glass (or smart windows). In principle, smart windows can be operated in either of two modes: absorptivity modulation or reflectivity modulation. The feasibility of utilizing polycrystalline (pc) tungsten bronze films, MxWO3 (M = H, Li), to obtain spectrally selective reflectivity modulation has been previously demonstrated. The question addressed in this paper is to determine the upper bound for the near infrared reflectivity modulation of pc-LixWO3 films
