Description
The character of the noise component of an electron beam formed by an explosive-emission cathode has been experimentally investigated. It is shown that its source is a large-scale shot noise related to the manifestation of ectonic structures in the electron beam. The measured quantitative characteristics of ectons are in good agreement with previously obtained data and estimates.
