Automatic computer program to calculate precision and integral and differential linearities with various references - PRELIN

The program allows precision and linearities of the response of items of equipment to be calculated with a small PDP8I computer from measurement results, input and output quantities. These terms are defined, after which the principle, elaboration and use of the program are described and an example of the results given. It is possible to obtain: the absolute and relative errors, and the classes, with respect to a conventionally true value; the precision with the mean value, the standard deviation, the uncertainty with its probability; the absolute and relative errors, and the classes of integral linearity compared to a reference line passing through the origin or not, calculated by the least squares method or another chosen line, with indication of the standard deviation; the relative differential linearity errors with a unit, mean or other chosen slope as reference quantities. The points at the ends of the scale may be eliminated in order to adjust the central measurement range. (authors)
