Measurement of b-quark forward-backward asymmetry by inclusive muons

  • 1. Osaka City Univ. (Japan). Dept. of Physics

Description

We report a preliminary result of the forward-backward charge asymmetry of e+e- → bb-bar by inclusive muons with <√s> = 58 GeV. All the data collected after the installation of full barrel muon chambers are used in the analysis. A total of 21384 hadronic events were selected which corresponds to the integrated luminosity of 179.89 pb-1. The obtained forward-backward asymmetry and total cross section of b-quark are Abb-bar = -0.54 ± 0.24(stat) and Rbb-bar = 0.59 ± 0.08(stat), for no B0(B-bar)0 mixing case. The measurements are consistent with the standard model. (author)
