Niobium effect on thermodynamic activity of oxygen and silicon in Fe-Nb-Si-O system melts at 1873K

  • 1. Kievskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Kiev (Ukrainian SSR)

Description

The effect of small silicon concentrations (from 0.05 to 0.40 mass %) on thermodynamic properties of oxygen dissolved in iron-niobium melts in the niobium concentration region from 0.05 to 0.90 mass % is studied using a compensation variant of the emf method with a solid electrolyte based on zirconium dioxide at 1873 K. Values of relative partial Gibbs energy of oxygen dissolution, coefficients of oxygen and silicon activity in Fe-Nb-Si-O system melts are calculated
