Persistence of [3H] trioleylglyceryl ether in organs of mice treated with glucocorticosteroids

  • 1. Hebrew Univ., Jerusalem (Israel). Hadassah Medical School

Description

Hepatic macrophages were used as a model to examine the fate of [3H] trioleylglyceryl ether injected with acetylated low density lipoprotein during disturbance of the system by hormones. Our findings indicate that, when a nonmetabolizable lipid is ingested by phagocytic cells in the liver, spleen or lung, no clearance of the label occurs for at least 3 weeks. (H.K.)
