Application and development of nuclear energetics in Europe

Description
In the paper, information on the use of nuclear power plants (NPP) in Europe, Their reliability and future development has been overviewed. At present, in Europe there are functioning 216 nuclear reactors which is slightly above a half of the total number of the world's reactors. Besides, there are 16 NPP with 37 functioning nuclear reactors within a radius of 1000 km from Latvia. In recent years, the activities in the European nuclear energetics attract particular interest of the Latvian community. (author)
