AERB information booklet: personal protective equipment- helmets
Description
All work places where hazards of various kinds are present and the same cannot be totally controlled by engineering methods, suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) shall be used. The importance of quality and reliability of PPE can be realised by the fact that PPE is the last line of defence against the hazards and they are the only barrier between the hazard and the person. There are three main classes of helmets, namely protective helmets for scooter and motor cycle riders, industrial safety helmets, non-metal helmet for firemen and civil defence. Recommendation regarding specification of safety helmets for use in nuclear facilities are given. (M.K.V). 2 annexures, 1 appendix
