Description

This presentation makes a review of 40 years of particle detectors evolution from G. Charpak's 'multiwire proportional chamber' to 2D Wireless silicon strip and tiny pixel modules used in ALICE, ATLAS, CMS, or LHCB experiments, and their impact on parameters resolution. Technologies under development are presented as well
