Superconductor magnetoelasticity

  • 1. AN SSSR, Leningrad. Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.

Description

The dependence of the frequency of bending vibrations on the external longitudinal magnetic field has been mesured for a long cylindrical conductor in superconducting state. In case, when the superconductor internal field equals zero, a good agreement with the magnetoelasticity theory is observed. Calculation of magnetoelasticity is carried out for a perfect conductor in the presence of a captured magnetic field inside it. The measured magnetoelasticity exceeds the one, calculated for the case, by a factor of 1.5. Reasons of the additional magnetoelasticity appearance are discussed
