  • 1. Ceskoslovenska Komise pro Atomovou Energii, Prague (Czechoslovakia)

Description

The Czechoslovak power generation system and the role of nuclear power in it are outlined. The total electricity production in Czechoslovakia in 1980 and 1985, the expected value in 1990, and predictions for 1995, 2000 and 2005 (in TWh) are 72.73, 80.62, 90.03, 101.90, 112.90 and 122.90, respectively. Out of this, the shares are as follows: public steam power plants 53.37, 54.10, 49.48, 45.21, 42.30 and 32.90, respectively; water power plants 4.60, 4.21, 5.00, 7.19, 8.10, and 10.00, respectively; nuclear power plants 4.52, 11.78, 25.00, 39.50, 54.00, and 72.00, respectively; and industrial power plants 10.24, 10.53, 10.55, 10.00, 8.50, and 8.00, respectively. Nuclear power plants at Jaslovske Bohunice (4 x WWER-440) and at Dukovany (4x WWER-440) are in operation, those at Mochovce (4 x WWER-440) and at Temelin (4 x WWER-1000) are under construction, and those at Kecerovce (3 x WWER-1000) and in North Moravia and in East Bohemia (2 x WWER-1000 each) are planned. The actual, expected or planned years of commissioning are as follows: Jaslovske Bohunice 1979, 1980, 1984, 1985; Dukovany 1985, 1986, 1986, 1987; Mochovce 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992; Kecerovce 1998, 1998, 2000; North Moravia 2001, 2002; East Bohemia 2003, 2004. The actual or expected district heat supply from NPP's in 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005 is 709, 3150, 12 500, 31 500 and 68 000 TJ. The total costs for electricity production in Czechoslovak thermal and nuclear power plants are 301.14 and 206.03 CSC/MWh, respectively. (P.A.). 1 fig., 6 tabs
