Utilization of orange waste using microbial transformation and irradiation treatments

Description

The present investigation aimed to utilize orange wastes from factories waste in production of natural antimicrobial and antioxidant compounds .Orange peels essential oils are rich in limonene; so it act as the precursor of different natural compounds converted from limonene using various identified fungal strain and isolated strain as follow: - Isolation and extraction the essential oil of orange peel and analysed it's physicochemical properties and chemical composition. - Isolation and identification of different microbial strains have the ability for orange oil biotransformation. - Irradiation of certain isolates with gamma rays to achieve better conversion of limonene. - Studies the effect of different fungal strains, media composition, time of bioconversion, microbial growth phases, ph, temperature and solvents used in product extraction on the limonene biotransformation by selected strains. - Studies the antimicrobial potency of extracted compounds against some pathogenic organisms. - Determination the antioxidant activity of extracted compounds
