An application of coincidence counting techniques to molecular radiation
Description
The general theory of coincidence counting methods would indicate that it is feasible to apply these methods to any cascade type of transition. An attempt to do so to the first and second positive band systems of nitrogen is discussed here. .A proposed experimental procedure is discussed some detail, with particular emphasis on a controlled electron excitation tube. Some possible improvements to the circuits and the geometry of the arrangement are mentioned. (author)
