The vibrational Raman optical activity of deuterated 1-methylindanes

Description
Figh quality VROA spectra disprove the idea of a methyl torsional mode leading to sizable optical activity above 220 cm-1 in arylethanes. The analysis of the 1450 cm-1 region shows that VROA provides unique information on the coupling of vibrations in large molecules. (orig.)
