Description
Objective: To study the possible mechanism of 99Tcm (V)-dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) localization in the bacterial osteoarthritis under glucose loading. Methods: In bacterial osteoarthritis rabbit model loaded by glucose, the methods both the region of interest technique and the percentage of injected dose were used to analyze the influence of biologic distribution of 99Tcm (V)-DMSA and uptake of 99Tcm (V)-DMSA in osteoarthritic bone tissues. Results: There was no influence of whole body biologic distribution of 99Tcm (V)-DMSA under glucose loading, but the uptake of 99Tcm (V)-DMSA in the osteoarthritic bone tissues was remarkably increased, the lesion to no-lesion ratio of 99Tcm (V)-DMSA 6 h post injection: 1) SPECT scan method were 2.882±0.525 in control group and 3.487±0.535 in glucose loading group (P<0.05); 2) percentage injection dose method were 3.153±0.334 in control group and 5.071±1.780 in glucose loading group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Glucose can increase the uptake of 99Tcm (V)-DMSA in the osteoarthritic bone tissues
