Comparison of the nuclear code systems LINEAR-RECENT-NJOY and NJOY
Description
The reconstructed cross sections of the code systems LINEAR-RECENT-GROUPIE (Version 1982) and NJOY (Version 1982) have been compared for several materials. Some fuel cycle isotopes and structural materials of the ENDF/B-4 general purpose and ENDF/B-5 dosimetry files have been choosen. The reconstructed total, capture and fission cross sections calculated by LINEAR-RECENT and NJOY have been analized. The two sets of pointwise cross sections differ significantly. Another disagreement was found in the transformation of ENDF/B-4 and 5 files into data with a linear interpolation scheme. Unshielded multigroup constants at O0K (620 groups, SANDII) have been calculated by the three code systems LINEAR-RECENT-GROUPIE, NJOY and RESEND5-INTEND. The code system RESEND5-INTEND calculates wrong group constants and should not be used any more. The two sets of group constants obtained from ENDF/B-4 data using GROUPIE and NJOY differ for some group constants by more than 2%. Some disagreements at low energies (10-3-eV) of the total cross section of Na-23 and Al-27 are difficult to understand. For ENDF/B-5 dosimetry data the capture group constants differ significantly. As secoes de choque reconstruidas dos diversos materiais pelos sistemas de codigos LINEAR-RECENT-GROUPIE (Versao 1982) e NJOY (Versao 1982) sao comparadas. Alguns isotopos de ciclo de combustivel e materiais estruturais do arquivo geral de ENDF/B-4 e do arquivo de dosimetria de ENDF/B-5 foram escolhidos. A secao de choque total reconstruida, secoes de choque de captura e fissao calculadas por LINEAR-RECENT e NJOY sao analisadas. Os dois pares de secoes de choque ponto a ponto diferem significativamente. Outra discrepancia foi encontrada na transformacao de ENDF/B-4 e arquivos na data com um esquema interpolarizacao linear constantes. Multigrupos em diluicao infinito a O0K (grupos 620, SANDII) foram calculados pelos 3 sistemas de codigos LINEAR-RECENT-GROUPIE, NJOY e RESEND5-INTEND. O sistema de codigos RESEND5-INTEND calcula constantes de grupo errado e portanto nao devem ser usados. Os dois pares de grupo constantes obtidos de data ENDF/B-4 usando GROUPIE e NJOY diferem de constantes do grupo por mais de 2%. Algumas discrepancias nas energias baixas (10-3-eV) da secao de choque total de Na-23 a Al-27 sao dificeis de se compreender. Para data de dosimetria ENDF/B-5 secao de choque de captura em grupos diferem significativamente. (Autor)Files
