Signs of a high q2 'electric dipole moment'

Description
We note that there are effects sensitive to F3, the 'electric dipole moment' of the electron and other fermions in high energy e+e- reactions. These use the naturally occurring transverse polarization in electron storage rings and include an 'up-down' and 'left-right' asymmetry relative to this polarization. Interference with the Z resonance is necessary and maximal effects occur near the Z or narrow high energy resonances. We show for the example of the tau lepton how it is possible to look for 'the electric dipole moment' of other particles than the electron. Although the possible sensitivity is much less than in searches for a static electric dipole moment, this proposal would permit investigations at high energy and in principle of different particles.
