Theory of Raman and infrared properties from models of amorphous Si

Description
The theory of vibrations of atoms arranged on a Bethe lattice is extended to calculate Green's functions for correlated motion between distant atoms. Formulae for infrared, neutron scattering and Raman properties are derived; the latter is found to depend on the distribution of dihedral angles. It is suggested that this simple theory can be used to interpret Raman data in amorphous Si. (author)
