The determination of human β-lipotropin
Description
A novel radioimmunoassay of human β-lipotropin (βsub(h)-LPH) is described. Details of a method of obtaining antisera containing antibodies specific to human β-LPH are given. In the radioimmunoassay βsub(h)-LPH gave a typical inhibition curve with homologous antiserum and 125I-βsub(h)-LPH; the sensitivity ranged from 0.1 to 10 ng. The estimated βsub(h)-LPH content in 5 human pituitary glands was 47 μg per gland. (U.K.)
