The VINATOM - Annual Report for 2020

Description

With the innovated format and additional content compared to the predecessors, the VINATOM Annual Report for 2020 aims to summarize the significant activities of the Institute during the period from 1 January to 31 December 2020. The first main part of this publication seeks to provide the status of the Institute and illustrative descriptions of the Institute's activities within the context of unprecedented difficulties in enduring and coping wih severe consequences of the pandemic. Refusing to step back, under the direction of the Board of Management, VINATOM has flexibly and determinedly made huge efforts to surpass certain obstacles and achieved proud results in terms of research, services and applications. The second part presents the reports of scientific research projects at ministerial and institutional levels which are accomplished and accepted during the year concerned. The research reports are categorized into the following subjects: Nuclear physics, reactor physics; Research reactors and nuclear power; Instrumentation; Industrial applications; Radiation protection and radioactive waste management; Applications in ecology, geology and environment; Applications in biology, agriculture and medicine; Radiation technology; Radiochemistry and materials science; Computation and other topics. The Annual Report is expected to provide all readers an insight into the VINATOM's accomplishments in research and development throughout the year. A photo collection covering VINATOM's 2020 remarkable events is added into this publication as a vivid description of what we have been through. (Editorial Board)
