Study of the cardiovascular system
Description
A short revision of the stochastic models applied to circulation dynamics is done. The radiocardiographic technique is discussed and orientation is given about the most used radionuclides in this study, such as: Barium 137, Iodine 131, Krypton 85, etc. The radiographic curve is minutely analysed. In the clinical apllication of the method a qualitative and a quantitative analysis are made. In the former case, the alterations on that curve caused by pathological states are discussed, in the latter one, the cardiac output is evaluated. The technique of shunt detection which uses Krypton 85 as a tracer is analysed, and an arterial index of Krypton 85 is estimated, that permits to evaluate the size of the shunt. Other topics are studied, such as: coronary circulation, with the measurement of the blood flow of myocardium; the determination of the blood circulation time; isotopic angiography; the peripheral circulation, with its applications on the determination of blood flow at capillary level and capillary permeability; cardiac scintigraphy, with the most used radioisotopes in it and finally, the placentography. Apos uma breve introducao sobre a aplicacao dos modelos estocasticos a dinamica da circulacao, passa-se ao estudo da radiocardiografia, instruindo-se sobre a tecnica e os radionuclideos mais usados: Bario 137m, Iodo 131, Kriptonio 85, etc., fazendo-se uma analise em detalhe da curva radiocardiografica, enquanto nas aplicacoes clinicas do metodo, fazem-se as analises qualitativa e quantitativa, exemplificando-se na primeira, alteracoes provocadas na curva por situacoes patologicas diversas, enquanto na ultima orienta-se sobre a avaliacao do deleito cardiaco. Com referencia a detecao de 'Shunts' instrui-se sobre a tecnica que utiliza o Kriptonio 85 como tracador e que permite o estabelecimento de um indice arterial daquele, a partir do qual pode-se calcular o tamanho do 'Shunt'. Estuda-se ainda a circulacao coronariana com a medida do fluxo sanguineo do miocardio: a determinacao do tempo de circulacao sanguinea e a angiografia isotopica; a circulacao periferica com aplicacoes na determinacao do fluxo sanguineo ao nivel dos capilares e na permeabilidade desses, a cintigrafia cardiaca com os radioisotopos mais usados e, finalmente, a placentografia.
