Matrix isolation studies of high temperature species

  • 1. Rice Univ., Houston, TX

Description

Studies of the spectroscopy of matrix isolated high temperature molecules have provided valuable insight into the bonding characteristics and reactivity of many high temperature species. Some of the more recent reviews and books which discuss matrix isolation applications and technique are referenced. This discussion concerns itself with the use of infrared and ESR isolation techniques as practiced in the Rice University laboratory. Possible new directions in matrix isolation are discussed
