Study on sodium-cooled fast reactor with supercritical carbon dioxide Brayton cycle
Description
The supercritical carbon dioxide Brayton cycle has recently received a great deal of attention due to its high thermal efficiency and compact layout, and has been chosen as alternative power conversion system by various nuclear systems. In order to study the characteristics of sodium-cooled fast reactor system with supercritical carbon dioxide Brayton cycle, this paper analyzed the number of reactor circuits, layout of power conversion system, system parameter selection and equipment material selection based on the investigation and analysis. The main parameters are analyzed for a given system configuration, and suggestions for development of supercritical carbon dioxide power cycle system for sodium cooled fast reactor are proposed.
