Stacking and acceleration at ISABELLE

Creators

  • 1. European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva

Description

Beam transfer from the AGS and beam stacking in the planned ISABELLE storage rings are discussed, and a method for avoiding unnecessary dilution of the stacked beam is presented. Coupled longitudinal oscillations, instability inside a beam bunch at high inside-bunch mode numbers, and the possibility of rebunching and accelerating the stacked beam by a separate rf system are also discussed
