Impact of body contour data on quantitative SPECT imaging

Creators

  • 1. Siemens Gammasonics, Inc., Des Plaines, IL (USA)

Description

The effects of body contour errors on single photon emission tomography were analyzed and results were checked through computer simulation. Body contour errors are a source of noise for SPECT and the way these enter the signal-to-noise equation was shown. By simulation it was shown that contour errors are more significant for image quantitation than for image appearance
