Feasibility of implantation in the LNMRI of an itinerant reference system in the measurement of radiopharmaceutical activity

Description

In Nuclear Medicine Service, radiopharmaceuticals are essential to produce an image of an organ or tissue of interest or to destroy a tumor located in it. In order to improve the diagnostic or therapy procedure, the activity of the administered radiopharmaceuticals must be accurately obtained. The short half-life, in general, is the greatest difficulty for the measurements made in the clinics to be related to national or international standards in an uninterrupted chain of measurements (traceability). This work presents a feasibility study for the implementation of an itinerant measurement system with calibration factors associated with the main radiopharmaceuticals used in the country. (author)
