Development of a high current pulsed electric discharge in vacuum

Description

Evolution of initiated vacuum discharge during the half period of the current semisoidal pulse of 850 nc duration by the current rate increase of dI/dt up to 5x1010A/c is experimentally studied. Threshold values of the current pulse parameters, are found by excess of which the current shape distortion, formation of spontaneous cathode spots, appearance of voltage oscillations and change of plasma luminescent character are observed. Presence of correlations between these events is shown
