Description
The significance of thermodiffusion in the changing of fuel during irradiation in the reactor is discussed. The high temperatures, to which the fuel in the centre of an oxide fuel rod is subjected to and the steep radial temperature gradient, which arises through the heat transport to the fuel rod cladding, allow thermodiffusion processes to become effective whereby a considerable displacement of the oxygen, fission products and even actinides is possible. A report is given on the present state of investigation of such processes. (orig./LH)
Abstract (German)
(orig./RW)Additional details
