Description
The draft law on the New Organization of the Electricity Market (known as the NOME law) is due to be voted in June 2010. Under the pretext of establishing a more competitive electricity market than is currently the case, Electricite de France (EDF) will be forced to sell back a quarter of its production at cost price to competing companies. Are French taxpayers, who through EDF have financed massive investments in nuclear power, prepared to give this 2-billion-euro gift to private operators who will not have had to make these investments? According to the author, this bill needs to be thoroughly reviewed by the Parliament
