Monte Carlo methods are considered as alternative methods for the safety evaluatin of finite element systems involving stochastic fields. As an extension of response variability studies by the authors to the structural safety assessment, two different Monte Carlo methods, 'Monte Carlo simulation' and 'Monte Carlo integration', are presented.
