High-temperature thermoelectric power of UO2

Description
Measurements of the thermoelectric power of UO2 up to 1950 deg C have been made. Above 1200 deg C an n-type Seebeck coefficient, characteristic of intrinsic conduction in UO2, has been found. The precision of the measurements above 1600 deg C does not permit a resolution of the underlying mechanism, but the measured values determine the range of possible parameters for either the mobility ratio of holes and electrons for the assumption of normal semiconduction, or mobility ratio and entropy for a hopping conduction mechanism.
