Magnetite films prepared by reactive evaporation
Creators
Description
Magnetite films were prepared by evaporating metallic iron in an oxygen atmosphere onto substrates at room temperature. Characterization by X-ray diffraction and Moessbauer spectroscopy is described. Pure magnetite was obtained when prepared in 5x10-6 Torr oxygen. Negative magnetoresistance, which suggests high spin polarization of electrons, is also reported
