Description
The VAMCIS system is designed to measure the leak rates inside pressurized water reactor (PWR) steam generators (SGs) continuously and accurately. It increases plant safety by providing reliable alarms in case of a steam generator tube rupture (SGTR). The paper discusses implementation on four-loop plants; available operating feedback; approval by EdF; cost/advantages approach; and use in other countries
