Photodisintegration of the deuteron and triton, and two-body effects
Description
The ground state and continuum state wave functions for the Paris potential of Lacombe et al. are obtained by transforming the radial part of Schroedinger equation to a form which is obtained for the other realistic local potentials. Using the interaction Hamiltonian of Breit and Rustgi and work of Rustgi, Nunemaker, and Sharma the total and the differential cross sections, polarization of outgoing nucleon, asymmetry function for the d(γ,n)p reaction were calculated. The Paris potential gives good agreement with the experimental data for the differential and total cross sections up to approx.50 MeV. However, the discrepancy in the forward direction cross section is still unexplained. In addition the contribution of the two-body effects due to one-pion exchange to the integrated and the bremsstrahlung-weighted cross section for the Paris potential is derived by using the dipole operator of Cambi Mosconi, and Ricci. These calculations are done for the various existing nucleon-nucleon interactions like Yale, Hamada-Johnston, Hamada-Johnston (Mod.), super-soft-core (versions A, B, and C), and Paris. The change in the enhancement factor due to meson exchange for the velocity dependent potential is found to be little larger than the change for the velocity independent potentials. It is found that contrary to the claim made in the literature, the integrated cross section cannot distinguish between the various two-nucleon potentials
