Fast neutron nuclear reactor core

Description

The reactor core has a central part comprising fissile assemblies. The fertile assemblies are arranged between the fissile assemblies. The fertile elements of these assemblies are dimensioned and spaced such as the fuel material volume ratio to the total volume of the assembly is nearly more important than the ratio corresponding to the fissile assemblies. The density of the fertile material is not less than 13. The invention applies, more particularly, to fast neutron nuclear reactors cooled by liquid sodium

Abstract (French)

Le coeur comporte une partie centrale renfermant des assemblages fissiles. Entre les assemblages fissiles sont intercales des assemblages fertiles. Les elements fertiles de ces assemblages sont dimensionnes et espaces de facon que le rapport du volume de materiau combustible au volume total de l'assemblage soit sensiblement superieur au rapport correspondant pour les assemblages fissiles. Le materiau fertile a d'autre part une densite au moins egale a 13. L'invention s'applique, en particulier, aux reacteurs nucleaires a neutrons rapides refroidis par du sodium liquide
