On mechanism of ''slow'' α-γ transformation in iron-nickel alloys

Description

Investigated is the effect of nickel content in the alloys of iron with 0-30 wt.%Ni on α → γ transformation kinetics, structure and growth rate of austenite crystals. It is shown, that slow α → γ transformation within 0 to approximately 12 wt.%Ni concentration range - is diffusionless transformation, at essential nickel content - diffusion-controlled equilibrium decomposition
