Hot channel factor design for thermal hydraulic calculation model of innovative research reactor

Description

In 2020 the research reactor license that operated by BATAN, will be expire, while the RSG-GAS will be too old (37 years old), accordance to this problem t is necessary to have a new research reactor as a RSG-GAS reactor companion. R & D for thermal hydraulic design of innovative research reactor is one of the supporters of the reactor design. According to nuclear reactor design, uncertainty factors should be taken into account. This uncertainty factor will be taking the risk of power peaking factor and give influence to safety margin magnitude, from the aspect neutronic and engineering aspects. Uncertainty factor design for the candidate configuration innovative type research reactor with MTR type, fuel plates using high loading of UMo of 7-9 g U/cm3. These fuel types have the same geometry with the production of PT BATEK that produces of the RSG-GAS fuel element. Nuclear uncertainty factors obtained from the neutronic calculation, while the engineering uncertainty factors and heat transfer correlations used the reference data. Uncertainty factor design of research reactor innovative determined using multiplication and statistics methodology. (author)
