Multigroup neutron diffusion in multi-region domains with interior corners

Description

We present the exact analytical solution of the multigroup diffusion equation (MGDE) at corners formed by piecewise homogeneous domains that stem from the spatially-homogenized subassemblies customarily used for modeling reactor cores in two-dimensional neutronics calculations in hexagonal and rectangular geometries. The angular eigenfunctions obtained hereby are not restricted to the MGDE but are generally applicable to all elliptic-type problems. (author)
