Scintigraphic assessment of local 99mTc-MIBI uptake in breast cancer
Description
The purpose of this study was to follow up the time course of 99mTc MIBI absorption in mammary gland and regional lymph nodes after intravenous injection of the radipharmaceutical in women with breast cancer. Extraction fraction of 99mTc-MIBI observed im mammary glands in controls was close to the zero. It was appreciably higher in the primary focus of breast cancer. 99mTc-MIBI is actively absorbed by tissues in the primary focus and regional metastases if breast cancer to the lymph nodes and may be used for the diagnosis and assessment of dissemination of this tumor.
