Description

Mo crystals joined by hot high-rate deformation (by compressing along axis <111>) were studied to reveal their structural peculiarities. It is found that the deformation structure of the compressed Mo crystals is inhomogeneous. It contains deformation bands, which is, mainly, the cause of recrystallization which occurs in crystals during their cooling from the deformation temperatures. The contact surface is shown to possess a large quantity of pores and is impermeable for migrating boundaries in the process of the primary recrystallization. Common grains on both sides of the contact surface are formed due to a considerable distance between the pores. The resultant porosity of the welded surface and the presence of deformation defects are determined by dynamic recovery
