Method and device for high-current ultrarelativistic subnanosecond electron beam formation
Description
The invention refers to accelerator technique and can be used for pulse radiation generation. The invention is aimed at increasing the beam density after the completion of extraction by means of producing a dense ring cluster with its subsequent transformation to a short straight-line electron beam. Dense ring electron cluster is transformed to a linear one at the expense of excitation in the region beneath the extraction channel of the whole resonance with excitation taking place impactly during units of nanoseconds. Ring beam shape, being transformed to the spiral one, gets to magnetoshielded channel and is transformed to the linear one. The duration of the beam extracted makes up (0.8-1.0) ns, and the cross section radius -0.4 cm respectively. 2 figs
