The HERMES recoil detector
Creators
Description
A Recoil Detector is proposed for the HERMES experiment for the investigation of exclusive reactions, where the detection of all generated particles can provide an access to the recently introduced Generalised Parton Distributions of the nucleon. The design and the expected performances of Recoil Detector are presented in this contribution. It is shown that the Recoil Detector will ensure an effective detection of exclusive events with background suppression up to 99% in a wide kinematical range
