Use of the temperature jump technique for the spectrophotometric determination of uranium(VI) and thorium(IV) in mixtures

  • 1. V. I. Vernadskii Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical Chemistry, Moscow (USSR)

Description

In this study it is shown possible to use the temperature jump method to determine elements in a mixture without their preliminary separation. The complexing reaction of Arsenazo III with Th4+ and UO22+ was chosen as the model reaction. This choice is governed by the extensive use of the reagent Arsenazo III for the photometric determination of thorium(IV) and uranium(VI) and also by the kinetics and mechanism of the reaction having been studied in detail by kinetic spectroscopy methods
