Description
The Ministry of Health Malaysia has introduced quality control (QC) scheme on medical diagnostic x-ray machines as a prerequisite for renewing licence to use and operate a diagnostic x-ray machine in a particular clinic or private hospital throughout Malaysia. Under this scheme, which is also called third party certification scheme, the performance of a particular general diagnostic x-ray machine is tested by using the procedures that have been approved by the authority. The tests may be carried out by third party which is a class H license holder issued by the appropriate authority under Act 304, namely Atomic Energy Licensing Act 1984. This paper explains in brief how a computer application can be developed and used to simplify and expedite the certification process on a general diagnostic x-ray machine. Results obtained from the performance test on a particular machine will be used and processed to generate the required report. Other important features of the computer programme are also presented in brief. (Author)
