Application of a superconducting susceptometer to biological samples

Description
A commercially available superconducting instrument for measurments of magnetic susceptibility has been applied to low-temperature measurements on frozen aqueous samples of biological interest. The performance of the instrument is discussed and procedures are described for calibration of the instrument using aqueous standard solutions in the same sample tubes that are used for unknown samples
