Extension of the Zakharov-Shabat generalized inverse method to solve differential-difference and difference-difference equations

The generalized inverse method recently introduced by Zakharov et al. in order to solve differential-difference and difference-difference equations is extended and the explicit form of the nondegenerate N-soliton solution is given. As an example a discrete version of the sine-Gordon equation is considered. (author)
